The Ethereum-based token launched in September 2023, generating $7 million in volume in its first 6 hours. It represents the TikTok-to-crypto pipeline — viral content from a completely non-crypto platform being financialized by degens who saw an opportunity. The Russian origins of the meme's name gave it an exotic, mysterious quality that added to its appeal.
