Fartcoin was born from an AI experiment called Truth Terminal, created by researcher Andy Ayrey. During an unsupervised conversation loop between two AI instances, the bot proposed creating a fart-themed cryptocurrency as satire of meme coin culture. Someone actually launched it on Pump.fun. Marc Andreessen gave the Truth Terminal project a $50K Bitcoin grant, lending it unexpected credibility. Within two months it hit a $1 billion market cap. By January 2025 it peaked at $2.48 per token. The original creator sold their entire bag within 30 seconds of launch for a $600 profit — missing out on $168 million had they held. They've since launched 446 other tokens trying to make it back.
