ai16z is an AI-managed decentralized autonomous organization (DAO) that parodies Andreessen Horowitz (a16z), one of crypto's most influential venture capital firms. The project runs an AI agent named "Marc AIndreessen" that manages a virtual investment fund, making autonomous trading decisions. It was one of the first tokens to combine the AI agent narrative with actual on-chain functionality. ai16z became the first AI token on Solana to surpass $2 billion in market cap, and its open-source framework (called Eliza) became widely used for building other AI agents. The token sits at the intersection of multiple hot narratives — AI, meme culture, DeFi, and the parody of traditional finance power structures.
