"Have fun staying poor" (HFSP) was the ultimate Bitcoin maximalist dismissal aimed at nocoiners, skeptics, or anyone who questioned whether Bitcoin was the future of money. It combined the financial confidence of a Bitcoin holder with the aggression of internet culture. The phrase was used in response to literally any criticism of Bitcoin — from Warren Buffett calling it "rat poison" to your friend saying they'd rather invest in stocks. It became both a genuine conviction and a meme, sometimes used self-deprecatingly when Bitcoin's price dropped. HFSP captured the cult-like certainty that defined early Bitcoin culture and remains one of the most recognizable phrases in crypto.
