CryptoZoo — one of the most high-profile celebrity crypto scams, exposed by Coffeezilla
Logan Paul launched CryptoZoo in 2021 as a blockchain-based game where players could collect, breed, and trade exotic animal NFTs. The project raised roughly $70 million from investors. The game was never delivered. Coffeezilla published a multi-part investigation documenting how funds were mismanaged, team members disappeared, and the promised gameplay never materialized. ZachXBT traced hundreds of ETH diverted to purchase blue-chip NFTs rather than develop the game. Paul initially threatened to sue Coffeezilla, then pivoted to promising refunds, then launched a buyback program that many criticized as insufficient. The CryptoZoo saga became the poster child for celebrity crypto grifts and showed how influencers could raise enormous sums with minimal accountability.
