GCR is crypto's most legendary anonymous trader. Named after his alias on FTX's leaderboard, he built a fortune from a reported $1,000 starting stack through relentless research — claiming to trade 120+ hours per week for 3.5 years straight. He consistently appeared on FTX's top traders leaderboard from 2021-2022. He called the November 2021 cycle top within days, posting "back and shorting" on November 22nd. He founded RebirthDAO, a decentralized hedge fund of elite traders. His most famous trade was shorting LUNA at $90 before its collapse to zero, placing a $10 million bet against Do Kwon. He also predicted Trump's 2024 election. After FTX collapsed (where most of his trading history lived), GCR went silent, posting a final message about the industry's failures. He's resurfaced occasionally — including to claim a $1M CULT token airdrop — but largely remains a ghost. His contrarian approach and cryptic writing style made him the closest thing crypto has to a mythical figure.
